The crowd starts to roar as the Varsity football team makes their way onto the field where they were set to take on the Benbrook Bobcats at the MISD Multi-Purpose Stadium on Friday, September 2nd. The Jaguars went in feeling dominant and they certainly had a right to feel that way. With the fact that this was the first home game of the season in the back of their mind, the team felt it was crucial to make this a win, and they did crushing the Bobcats 77-7.

Senior and Offensive Linemen Tanner Whitehead was determined to gain redemption from their last loss they really buckled down and practiced hard they didn’t cut themselves any slack this win was something the team thought was vital to make their school a school of champions.

“We thought we gotta go harder we cant be sloppy or anything.” Whitehead said, “I’m definitely excited to take our team to the playoffs this season.”

But it wasn’t only the team that felt pressure going into this game, the fans could feel it all too even from the stands. Everyone wanted this not only for their school but for the team and for all the coaches who put so much time into making our team the very best it can be. The soul of our team is the coaches who take their time to make our team the very best without them we couldn’t get very far.

” I’m a strength and conditioning coach because this is where God put me and its what i’m good at.” Coach Terry said, “I love encouraging people and creating monsters in the weight room.”

With the big game coming to an end the players overall were very satisfied with the way they played and are looking forward to long road of football they have ahead of them that road will hopefully lead them to the playoffs where they’ll be given their chance to play in the state finals.

” What i’m looking forward to most this season has to be the play offs I don’t think were dominant but i do think we have a very good chance at becoming an amazing team.” Nathan Ast Junior and Defensive Corner said, “I honestly have no idea who were going to be facing but it’ll be a good ride.”
