Muncie, Indiana — A 41-year-old Indiana woman is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say she orchestrated a brutal attack on a sleeping man, allegedly waking him by kicking his bed before directing two male associates to beat him.
The attack reportedly left the victim struggling to breathe and covered in blood, with medical examinations later revealing a collapsed lung, several broken ribs and serious facial injuries.
Woman Allegedly Wakes Sleeping Victim
According to court documents, Robin Naomi Jackson went to a home in the 800 block of North Jefferson Street with two male associates. One of the men was believed to be Jackson’s juvenile son.
The victim reportedly told police that he had been asleep when Jackson suddenly kicked the side of his bed, waking him.
Jackson allegedly told him, “I told you your a— whooping was coming,” before allegedly directing the two men toward him.
The victim told investigators that the men initially punched him before the assault escalated into repeated kicks and stomps.
Victim Allegedly Beaten in Head, Face and Ribs
According to the victim’s account, the two attackers allegedly punched him and then kicked and stomped him in the head, face and ribs.
The violence reportedly left him severely injured and struggling to breathe.
At one point, the victim had fallen to the floor and was suffering from heavy bleeding from his face. One of the alleged attackers reportedly suggested that an ambulance was needed.
Jackson allegedly rejected the suggestion.
“He doesn’t need a f—ing ambulance,” she reportedly said.
When officers arrived, they reportedly found the victim bleeding heavily and having difficulty walking. Police also found what court documents described as a “fair amount” of blood inside the residence.
Doctors Discover Collapsed Lung and Broken Ribs
Emergency medical personnel transported the injured man to Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital, where doctors evaluated his injuries.
Medical staff reportedly determined that he had suffered a collapsed lung, several broken ribs, a large laceration near his left eye socket and a broken tooth.
The severity of the injuries led authorities to classify the incident as a serious bodily injury case.
The victim reportedly told investigators that he believed the attack was connected to an earlier dispute involving Jackson and his wife.
Victim Claims Earlier Dispute Involved His Wife
The victim alleged that approximately one month before the beating, Jackson had choked his wife with enough force to send her to the hospital.
Police are investigating whether that previous dispute was connected to the alleged attack.
The circumstances surrounding the earlier incident and the precise motive for the assault remain part of the allegations described in court records.
Jackson Arrested During Traffic Stop
Police arrested Jackson the following day during a traffic stop at Granville and Centennial avenues.
Authorities reportedly found a young child in the back of Jackson’s truck when she was taken into custody. The child had allegedly also been brought to the home during the assault.
Jackson was booked into the Delaware County Jail.
Court records show she faces charges including burglary, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, battery resulting in serious bodily injury, possession of methamphetamine, residential entry, and neglect of a dependent.
The two men accused of carrying out the beating had not been arrested or publicly identified as of Friday afternoon.
Court Hearing Scheduled
Jackson remained in custody Friday afternoon on an $18,000 bond, according to court records. She is scheduled to appear for her initial hearing on August 28.
The allegations against Jackson remain accusations, and the criminal charges must be resolved through the court process.
