Parental pressure is a part of life for most teenagers. Kate Clarke (11) explained how these expectations encourage her to give her best effort. “I definitely think theres some value in the pressure they put on me,” Clarke said. “I do tend to put my full foot forward when I do things since I’ve grown up with that expectation. But at the same time it can be hurtful sometimes…”

Through her many solos, Paige Parsley (12) shines under the spotlight. Behind the scenes of Parsleys closing performance in Fiddler, work was being done to ensure perfection.  Our backstage was pretty crammed, so moving set pieces on and off [was a problem], Parsley said. There were a few mic issues. Other than that, there were very little problems.

The rivalry between Tik Tok and Reels has been evergrowing since Instagram’s duplicate has taken off. As the platforms continue updating, their competition will most likely grow as well. Each app has its pros and cons; according to Maddison Mudd (10), it depends on the individuals personal choice. “I think there’s such a rivalry between the two apps because they both do the same thing,” Mudd said, “people just have their preferences.” - Made on Canva

Sewing prayer shawls, Evelyn Nelson (9) and Lilyanne Marckwardt (10) work together to add to the growing amount of costumes. Fiddler on the Roof has numerous cast members, so the tech crew had to create an abundance of costumes. 
Costuming has been crazy, Nelson said. We’ve sown a lot of dresses, aprons and head scarfs. It got so crazy that we were putting everything on the choir storage room and the shelf fell.

Exploring the Gaylord in Grapevine, the theater class takes a break from their competitions at the Texas Thespian Festival. With contests in solo musicals, group scenes and many more, students like Jailen Readoux (12) were felt slightly overwhelmed. When you’re at your own school you’re good and whatever, Readoux said, but when you go to a competition with like 7,000 kids and all these different schools, they’re all good at theater, so you feel really small in that moment.”

A Tough Act To Follow

Depicting the world she wishes to create, Whitney Flach (12) sketches a map to use while writing her novel. The book started in January of this year, and Flach has already planned for the future. “I intend to let Kate [Maddison (12)] read it because she’s an editor and stuff, Flach said, so I want her to look over it and see if there’s something she would change.”

Spotify has released its annual compilation of user listening habits- Spotify Wrapped. Listeners worldwide had the chance to look at a summary of their top artists, songs and podcasts in the form of brightly colored statistics. For Shayla Wulf (12), these numbers are the best part of Wrapped. “My favorite thing about Spotify Wrapped was seeing your stats and how much of a super fan you were for different artists, Wulf said. -Made in Canva
