MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A dispute between two neighbors at a mobile home park in northwest Miami-Dade County reportedly escalated into a bizarre confrontation involving accusations of an affair, a physical struggle and a bucket of human feces.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Yirsi Esperanza Machado Rivera, 50, on Monday after investigators said she confronted her next-door neighbor at the Royal Country mobile home park west of Miami Gardens.
The incident happened in the 5500 block of Northwest 200th Terrace, where Machado Rivera and the alleged victim live on separate sides of a split trailer.
According to a sheriff’s office report, Machado Rivera went to the victim’s side of the trailer at about 6:15 p.m. and began banging on the door.
When the victim answered, deputies said Machado Rivera began accusing her neighbor of having a sexual relationship with her husband.
Police Say Woman Forced Her Way Inside
The confrontation allegedly escalated quickly after the door was opened. Deputies said Machado Rivera forced her way into the victim’s home and began shoving her. The encounter then took an unusual turn.
According to the report, Machado Rivera eventually left the home after allegedly throwing a bucket containing human feces onto the victim. Authorities said the suspect then left the residence.
Investigators also spoke with a witness who reportedly heard Machado Rivera explain what she had done. According to the sheriff’s office report, she told the witness that she “pooped in a bucket to throw it in the victim’s face.”
The allegation added another unusual detail to an already heated confrontation between the neighboring residents.
Suspect Gives Deputies Different Explanation
During an interview at the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office’s Northwest District station, Machado Rivera reportedly offered deputies a different account of the events.
According to the report, she said she had been trying to get rid of a bucket of “caca” that she had been using because of a broken toilet.
Machado Rivera told investigators that she and her neighbor had been arguing verbally over the smell of the feces and the problems it was causing.
She also alleged that the victim attacked her during the dispute. According to the report, Machado Rivera said the victim hit her over the head with a bat, leaving her with a laceration.
However, deputies said Machado Rivera denied entering the victim’s residence and denied throwing “caca” at her neighbor.
The conflicting accounts are now part of the investigation surrounding the incident.
Woman Arrested on Burglary and Battery Charges
Despite her denial, deputies arrested Machado Rivera on charges of burglary and battery following the confrontation.
The case stems from what authorities described as an altercation that began at the neighboring mobile homes before escalating inside the victim’s residence.
The report does not establish whether the suspected affair accusation had any basis, and authorities have not indicated that an alleged relationship between the victim and Machado Rivera’s husband was confirmed.
The reported disagreement over the broken toilet and the smell of the bucket also remains part of Machado Rivera’s explanation of what led to the confrontation.
Miami-Dade Investigation Continues
As of Tuesday afternoon, Machado Rivera remained in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Her bond was listed as “to be set.”
Authorities have not provided additional details about the victim’s condition or whether investigators found evidence supporting Machado Rivera’s claim that she was struck with a bat.
The case remains a striking example of how a neighborhood dispute can quickly escalate into a criminal investigation.
For now, the allegations against Machado Rivera are based on the sheriff’s office report, and the charges remain allegations unless proven in court.
