Hypocrisy from the Stands

Revolution is Never Easy So Why Ask For It To Be

I’ll keep this short.

You are allowed to mourn innocent life lost. You are allowed to grieve people and fear for the lives of those around them. You are allowed to feel things because of lives lost and have your opinions based on those feelings.

That does not change one simple fact. Revolution is messy. It always has been and it always will be.

I have so many examples I could unload right now that showcase that very concept. The Haitian Revolution, Nat Turner Slave Revolt, the French Revolution, etc.

And because of this very simple fact, you CANNOT do one very simple thing. You cannot judge or crucify an oppressed population for the actions they take to escape the crushing thumb of their oppressor.

Innocents dying is bad all day long. But if you were really worried about victims, you would be holding the people that made their deaths “necessary” accountable.

Or you would at least question why the people and organizations the world government has put in place (UN, anyone) hasn’t kept them in check.

You don’t just get to get away with subjecting a population to abuse and apartheid without consequences, regardless of where those consequences come from.

And you do not get to play “victim” after a group of colonizers you share commonalities with is “threatened”. Nor can you use this victim complex you have built up to inflate your own self-importance as a scapegoat to prop up long-dormant international Islamophobia, the spreading of information that is clearly propaganda, and the active call for an ethnic cleansing.

You can grieve. You’re allowed.

But, I hope you find the solace to sleep at night, as your refusal to hold anyone accountable has led to the deaths of untold amounts of Palestinian children and will lead to countless more.

And furthermore, Palestine is only the latest example of this range of extreme apathy. The children or just people in general being discussed can be any oppressed group.

Yes, the people ordering the airstrikes hold the most responsibility, but you have given them power that they should not be allowed to wield.

And don’t get me wrong, Palestine isn’t the first example of this, and I’m sure it’s far from the last. But, my point will always remain the same. I am on the side of the oppressed, and maybe if we all were, there wouldn’t be worries about innocent people dying.

For those this hypocrisy doesn’t apply to, hold it down and never forget. War is messy, revolution even messier, but mass-murder is a uniquely understood evil that the history books cannot be allowed to forget.

I stand against oppression in all its forms and I stand with Palestine.

And yes, I kept it short.
