Since the establishment of the Robotics club, Robotics has promoted acts of kindness internationally, and allows many opportunities for involved students. Gregory Guy (11) shares a time when he and his team helped people in need.

“We built a water tower for a village in Panama so they could get water,” Guy said.

While continuing to spread acts of kindness wherever possible, being a member of Robotics also provides many opportunities for those involved.

“Not everyone in sports is going to go pro, but everyone of these students is going to go pro, because all of them will be involved in technology sometime in the future,” Dr. Bryan Rogers said. “So this just gives them an advantage and this organization puts out over 80 million dollars in scholarships around the world.”

The Robotics club also has direct access to current information and inventions from very qualified sources.

“I have a connection with MIT, so I’ll find out stuff they’re coming up with and inventing, and [also from the] Inspiration Recognition of Science and Technology,” Dr. Rogers said. “[This program] does a really good job at sending us different things, and regular research.”

While Robotics provides many opportunities, it also supports the creation of great memories, Shalini Asirvadam(9) shares one of her favorite experiences in Robotics.

“Me and Giana were making the ‘Pencil Dropper Stopper,’ you put your pencil in it and it doesn’t roll off the table,” Asirvadam said. “It’s fun seeing it actually [become] real.”

One of the Robotics leaders, Landen Morton(11), explains the skills he has gained while being involved in Robotics.

“Being used to coming up with solutions quickly,” Morton said. “And [dealing with] ineffective designs and time management.”

Asirvadam shares what inspired her to join the team.

“I always wanted to make something that could change the world,” Asirvadam said.
