Spring sports have officially taken off. Baseball tryouts are finishing up, soccer is in full force, and track is busy preparing for their first meet. There’s no better way to kick off spring sports than with a pep rally. Between announcing team members and special vocal performances, the students were able to participate in a spirited celebration of all the hard-working athletes.

Basketball, soccer, powerlifting, and Special Oympic athletes were called name by name into the center of the court. Artists Nate Trillo and Raja Banks performed their original song “Da Vinci.” Students erupted in applause and cheers for their peers and friends.

Senior varsity basketball player, Steven Wallace, was excited for the basketball team to get some recognition.

“We were able to recognize not only Varsity, but the JV and Freshman teams too,” Steven Wallace (12) said. “I think it’s nice that everyone got to see who’s competing for the school.”

The Belles had the opportunity to dance to Da Vinci while Nate and Raja did a live performance. They had been planning to dance to a recording of the song, but when Trillo and Banks were asked to sing, they collaborated with the artists to perform together.

“It was really cool to perform with Nate and Raja,” Hollyn Moreland (9) said.

The entire school pulled out their phones to record the song and dance while they sang and danced along in the stands.

“I think the crowd really liked the performance and our dance,” Hollyn Moreland (9) said.

The pep rally revolved around the students and their accomplishments, whether they be athletic or artistic accomplishments.

“I think it’s really nice that we get a chance for recognition,” Steven Wallace (12) said.
