“My expectations for high school did not meet at all. I thought we were going to “High School Musical” this all the way to senior year. Really all we did is get into Instagram and Twitter beefs and break friendships. There was a lot more drama than I expected. I also thought the lunch would be over the top, like lobster and caviar, but it’s just pizza like we’re used to. But there were positives too. I didn’t expect to be so accepted. I thought I was an outsider because I’m Nigerian, and a lot of people don’t understand some of the things I can’t do because it’s against my parents’ culture. At first I wasn’t allowed to go to football games, but then they realized there was nothing wrong with that and nothing was happening, they were okay with me going.”
