Yells echo off the gym walls as the volleyball players call encouragements to each other and dart to and from positions, making sure each play is set up before the ball can hit the ground. The second game comes to a close and the girls increase the tempo in effort to gain the points between them and Godly.

“It was the second set and we were down by like eight or nine points and then we just went one a run, like a seven point run to get us back in the game, I think that was our strongest point in the game.” said Julia Valdez (12).

Although the Jaguar volleyball team ended with a loss, they are eager to square up in a rematch against Godly.  Confident that with a bit of sharpening of their skills they can come back with a win.

“I think we just need to work on our chemistry a little, so we work better as a whole, than working individually.” said Tori Needels (12).
