OPINION: Fuller House, Lesser Fans

“Fuller House” is a TV show with potential. It’s 2016, but the producers of the show are treating the show as though it’s still an 80s sitcom. The producers had good intentions by still going for the old sitcom look, but the whole show is about the future of “Full House” characters. “Fuller House” needs to keep up with the times as well.

The series also looks too staged. Actors/actresses have a cheesy manner to their acting and though this may have been an attempt by the makers of the show to hold on to the old days of “Full House” when cheesy acting was expected, it does not fit and appears awkward. In addition, the set looks unrealistic in almost all aspects of the show. In fact, the set looked better in “Full House”, in the 80s and 90s when over the top stages were common.

Also, instead of keeping with the exact same story as the original “Full House”, the story could’ve changed at least a bit. The original widowed parent, three kids, two friends move in, and one big happy family idea should’ve stayed back in the prequel series.

If you’re an original “Full House” fan, such as myself, I would say you may be disappointed. Overall, with a more realistic set, a more unique plot, and if the producers keep up with the times, “Fuller House” could be a big hit.
