OPINION: The Go-To Show

“That ‘70s Show” is a television show about a group of teenagers and their lives and relationships. The show is lighthearted and easy to watch, but also very enticing and has a somewhat complex plot. It is just right no matter what mood a person is in.

The acting in the show is really what makes the show so incredible. The main character, Eric Forman, played by Topher Grace, pulls the show together by creating emotional and humorous ties with his friends and family making the show relatable and easy going. This can only be achieved by exceptional acting and writing. Eric’s girlfriend for the majority of the show goes by the name of Donna Pinciotti, played by Laura Prepon. Her unique character is enhanced by her relationship with Eric.

It may seem absurd to be so in touch with a show that ended ten years ago and is set in a decade from 40 years ago. The reason why I am is the show is something I can go to directly after school or when I’m stressed out because it is relaxing and inviting. It is my go-to television series.

“That 70s Show” began in 1998 and finished in 2006 with eight seasons. It could not have lasted this long without the expertise of the actors and writers in the making of the show. Many actors from the show went on to act more including Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Mila Kunis, and Ashton Kutcher.

“Full House”, another television show from this time period, is not even comparable to “That ‘70s Show”. There is so much more depth in the humor and relationships on the show. “That ‘70s Show” is written well, making the repetitive times of the teenagers hanging out in Eric’s basement more exciting and hilarious each time. The repetition of “Full House” only made the show boring and shallow.

I recommend “That ‘70s Show” because it is humorous and lighthearted. It deserves more viewers because it lessens stress and will stick with you for a long time.
